Zero Fare for Better Air begins Aug. 1
During the month of August, RTD will offer zero fares across the entire system
as part of a collaborative, statewide initiative designed to reduce
ground-level ozone by increasing use of public transit. The Zero Fare for
Better Air initiative is made possible by Colorado Senate Bill 22-180, the
ozone season transit grant program in partnership with the Colorado Energy
Office. Together, with internal and external partners, the goal is to reduce
ground-level ozone while promoting the benefits of and increasing the use of
public transit. Read more. |

Emergency drill scheduled for July 20 on N Line
RTD, in partnership with Commerce City, Thornton, Westminster and Northglenn
police and fire departments, will be conducting an emergency drill 7-10 p.m. on
July 20 on the N Line. During the drill, residents and businesses in the area
should expect a heavy police and fire department presence, sirens, lights and
emergency equipment. Please remember that this is simply a drill and that no
actual emergency is happening. Shuttle buses will replace N Line service from
Commerce City•72nd Station to Eastlake•124th Station while the drill is in
progress.

Did you know?
The city and county of Denver has 196 miles of on-street bike lanes. In
addition, there are 85 miles of paved biking and walking trails that navigate
through the city, according to the Denver Department of Transportation and
Infrastructure. Notable trails include the South Platte, Cherry Creek, High
Line Canal, Bear Creek and Clear Creek trails. Consider trading the car for the
bike for the next commute. On the bike and need a lift to finish the journey?
RTD offers bike racks on all its buses and commuter rail trains. Bikes can also
be brought onboard light rail trains. Learn how to load bikes on RTD vehicles

Tip of the month
Working while experiencing fatigue can be dangerous. The National Safety
Council (NSC) estimates that 43% of workers are sleep-deprived, with night
shift workers being the most at-risk group to experience fatigue-related
injuries, followed by those who must work long shifts or have irregular shift
schedules. To avoid workplace fatigue, avoid exercise or big meals near
bedtime, avoid chemicals that can affect sleep such as caffeine, nicotine and
alcohol, set a routine and avoid stressful activities prior to bed.
