Take RTD to enjoy the 9News Parade of Lights
The annual 9News Parade of Lights returns to downtown Denver on Saturday,
featuring floats, giant balloons, marching bands, equestrian units and cultural
displays. While some RTD routes will be affected by the event, the agency’s bus
and rail services remain a great option to reach this marquee holiday parade. |

10-Ride, Access-a-Ride paper tickets to be accepted through 2023
RTD will be accepting all 2020 and 2021 10-Ride and Access-a-Ride paper tickets
as valid fare payment through 2023. This is to accommodate customers who have
purchased tickets before and during the pandemic and have not yet returned to
riding RTD. In addition, RTD’s ongoing fare study and equity analysis is
expected to result in fare changes taking effect in 2023, and as such, all
paper ticket books issued in 2022 will also be accepted as valid fare payment
through 2023. The validity period of mobile tickets will remain unchanged. Both
types of ticket books can be purchased online, at RTD Sales Outlets, and at
participating King Soopers and Safeway stores.

New on News Stop: Transit from a customer perspective
The News Stop has begun featuring a crucial viewpoint: that of RTD customers.
Guest bloggers will be featured periodically to share their perspectives about
the agency. The first post is from 13-year-old transit advocate Jackson
Ledesma, who writes that public transportation is “a way to experience our city
from a different perspective. No longer trapped in an automobile in heavy
traffic, but in a large bus or train filled with people from all walks of life;
each person with their own unique experiences.”

Tip of the month
Autumn is a time to create or restock a winter preparedness kit for vehicles.
In addition to a full tank of gas and fresh antifreeze, keep a bag in the trunk
at all times that includes a variety of items that might be needed in case of
an emergency situation. Click here to read about appropriate contents for such
a kit.
