Repair shop said MB, has a swollen cap. He said it was Optiplex's that
were
recalled. So if you have any more info to help go after Dell, that would
be

If it has the stadard 20 pin ATX power plug try subbing a regular one
in -
after you disconnect the hard drive to be sure it isnt shorted - I see a
lot
of Dell and HP units with dead grounded hard drives lately, mostly
Maxtor/Quantum. If it works with the HD removed (wont boot but should
POST)
then you have a bum HD, otherwise try the good power supply substitute.

Subject: [CTS] PC Will not boot sometimes
Dell Demention 4700 Light goes yellow/orange then green and the HDD light
lits for a sec then nothing. Turn off by holding power button for 15 sec
cause a quick push does not work then it turns on. No beeps.
I have a 3 page thing from the manual with a 4 light sequance to tell me
what is wrong but it has yet to do that for me.
Another time the fans just kept getting louder but that was before I
relized
about the 4 light sequance thing. What ever happened to beeps?
