David, Sorry I was not there, my client's wife was sick. Or something like that. :) I for one would be interested in trying the GPS demos again. It sounds like people have done some interesting projects. Kathy Green and I held down the fort in DeKoevand Park Tuesday evening as other regular members presented lame excuses ("clients" and "sick wives") to justify being AWOL from the August meeting. Heh, just kidding guys! In retrospect I think I shouldn't have been too surprised, given the expected lower turnout during summer vacation and a great Olympics lineup that evening. What I think we'll start doing while the group is growing is asking for an RSVP a couple of days before the meeting to make sure the stars are aligned properly. I don't mind small groups occasionally, but it was a little silly for Kathy and me to drive up from the Springs area when we could have just hung out down here. I didn't take minutes but we had a good time talking a little about GPS and flogging dead horses like "which is better, Java or .NET". Naturally, no definitive conclusions were drawn except that Kathy can really hold her creme soda. ;-) The weather was great and the park actually quite beautiful with good places to sit and talk, so if there is an interest in trying to do this again when more people can come I'm game for it. Please shoot me some feedback (on the list or backchannel) about what you'd prefer to do for the September meeting. We can meet back at Rock Bottom Brewery, which seems to be pretty popular. Or if it was just a timing issue that kept people away this month we could try the DeKoevand Park "GPS picnic" plan again in September. I'd be happy to bring some beer and hotdogs to grill if we go that route. Remember, the idea of using the park was so we could have some GPS demos, but we're not locked into that topic for this month if people have something else they want to propose. Hope Dick's client and Rick's wife are all feeling better now! :-) David
