However I had a problem with my laptop having both VS2003 and VS2005 on it
and I ended up removing the later and reinstalling VS2003. VS2003 just
stopped working after a couple of weeks. The reason is unknown, but the
consequences are still showing up, like whatever I do I can't debug ASP.NET
app anymore.

I had that trouble with the beta, but I haven't seen it (on the two PCs
where I have both 2003 and 2005 installed) with the release version. Beta's
are troublesome. I recomend the obvious -- use a separate machine, or use
Virtual PC (or VMWare).
Both machines where I have both VS2003/5 installed are "clean." That is, I
had NOTHING installed prior to adding these environments.
