Interesting, and disappointing as well.
WRT ComiXed, we're not tied to ComicVine. The server is designed to allow
metadata scrapers to be plugged in, and we have open feature requests to
add other sources:

Specifically, we have open tickets to add a scraper for Marvel's server,
bedetheque.com and Disney. I just went with ComicVine as the first to
implement since it was the most popular when I started the project. It can
be used as the POC to build out other scrapers to add to the system.

It was mentioned on another thread that ComicVine is "doomed".
Is this statement due to the lag in metadata being made available there? I
saw on Reddit yesterday where someone else the person who entered the data
quit, while others replied that the data is a community effort and not an
employee thing.
Does anybody here have some insight or knowledge of the situation?
