Do you mean a Windows desktop OPDS reader?

Due to the lack of OPDS readers on Windows, the web front end will be the

KK. I think ultimately we can look at swapping out PrimeNG for Material

done. I'm hoping those pieces will be done by either 0.7 or 0.8 (December).
Then we can do a better job of the frontend and have it be the de facto way
to use CX from anything other than an OPDS reader.

I mentioned the webp issue as I think that’s more of an FYI thing - it’s
fully on Apple to resolve.

The lack of context menus was unexpected though.

Ugh, that's definitely a turnoff to me for a toolkit, for them to ignore
issues on a well-used platform.

I hate to change gears abruptly, but have been considering whether
Angular Material might not be a better toolkit to use for the UI than
PrimeNG. I'm afraid to just pull the trigger like that, but Google is
invested in providing a good toolkit since it owns both Angular and
Material. And I know they support iOS devices.

Actually, there is an open issue on PrimeNG github for this issue:

Darryl, the problem is not Safari related, which you say works fine in
your mac. The problem I am afraid is related to iOS, whichever browser you
use (I tried Safari, Chrome and Edge), there is no way to reach the
contextual menus... I was not aware of the WebP problem, though, and I
think that should be separated. WebP is Safari, while contextual menus
problem renders any iOS device unable to work with comixed, which is a
pity.

If the menus don't work on a browser then it's really a PrimeNG bug
since we're using their toolkit to do the interface.

I'd definitely ask them to file a bug so we can look into the issue to
know what version they're using, etc.. There was a bug with the context
menus a while back that I fixed during development, so I'd need to know if
they're using an incremental build or a release candidate.

My primary computer is a Macbook Pro and I'm able to use the app,
including the context menus, with Safari. Regarding the WebP image, that
appears to be a limitation of the Safari browser: not much we can do about
that. There are definitely some strange layout issues with Safari; i.e.,
the sort dropdowns are stacked rather than side-by-side is an issue I see.
But otherwise things look pretty much normal so far.

A redditor asked about accessing the context menus in iOS.

I’ve noticed it before, but didn’t do anything about it because iOS
browsers don’t appear to support webp images.

Anyway, it doesn’t seem to be possible to open the context menus in
iOS Safari (and I assume other iOS browsers).

Would this be a bug, feature request or an OS limitation that can’t
be addressed?
