Looks like the failure is specific to my main machine, as I’m not striking the
issue on my desktop machine that was recently rebuilt.

At this point there is literally no difference between the two code bases
except for the version in the properties files. I have no idea why you're
seeing any behavior differences related to the releases since the code is
identical.

The user-details.label.last-logged-in text is displayed in the 0.8.0
development release.
More importantly, with both the latest 0.7 candidate and the latest 0.8
development releases, CX does not seem to be working when a new database has
to be created. No user friendly menu names are displayed on the log in
page, and I cannot log in using the default credentials.
Looking at the logs, the credentials being passed through are my personal
ones – not the default one’s I’ve selected. Now Edge does helpfully
pre-populate the login box with my personal credentials....but I for sure
swap to the default ones (both by selecting the defaults stored by Edge, and
manually typing them) before pressing login.
Steps to replicate are pretty straight forward – start CX with no
pre-existing database, and note that you cannot log in. Then start the same
version of CX with a pre-existing database and note there are no issues.
