Spring update

|
| At EUDiF, the first quarter of 2022 has flown by in a whirlwind of new action
preparation, research publication and dialogue facilitation. The density and
diversity of activities reminds us constantly how dynamic diaspora engagement
is as a field, and how much there still is to explore, test and learn to truly
make the most of the enormous potential of diaspora human capital.
The most exciting and public part of this exploration will take place at the
Future Forum next week (see more below), but it is truly a continuous process.
In particular, the testing and learning moves from theoretical to practical
when we co-design and implement actions with our partners.
Our action portfolio includes now 16 micro-projects with diaspora organisations
in Europe and EU partner countries around the world. In April the first of
those actions successfully came to an end and triggered a reflection on
diaspora and entrepreneurship as a form of engagement with great long-term
impact potential.
Ensuring sustainable, long-term impact is at the heart of EUDiF-action design
and why we strive to empower partners through capacity development so they can
carry the action forward autonomously. Nevertheless, completing an action is
bittersweet. It is the end of an intense period working closely with partners;
we step back to watch from the side as they continue their journey. Yet, it is
also a new opportunity for us to look back and learn from the collaboration and
combine it with the related results of our dialogue and research work.
In the months ahead, we are looking forward to such reflections across our
portfolio and excited to share them with the wider community. Watch this space!
In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you at the Future Forum next week
and invite you to read on to catch up on all the progress of 2022 so far... |

Rapporteurs, you do not want to miss out on the discussions and practices lined
up!
The EUDiF Future Forum is the EU's annual event to advance diaspora-development
collaboration globally. This year's two-day online conference, 11-12 May,
focuses on 'human capital' and will explore how we can invest, celebrate, and
transfer diaspora skills and expertise for national development, with a special
focus on youth and employment. Click here for the agenda and more.
