Welcome!

This is the mailing list for Codeface, a framework and frontend
for technical and social analysis of software development projects.

Codeface captures various data sources (revision control systems,
bug tracking systems, mailing lists and source code complexity metrics)
to provide

* an interactive web front-end for data visualisation and exploration,
* a fully automated, parallelised analysis framework that can deal
with very large projects (10,000s of developers, multi-million lines
of code) with little manual configuration effort,
* a holistic database to integrate all derived data and allow for
  doing complex queries.

Codeface was developed by Siemens AG, Corporate Technology. By
releasing the code as Open Source Software (mostly under GPLv2), we
want to foster public participation - your contributions are highly
welcome! Siemens remains committed to maintaining Codeface in the
future.

Please note that while the software is already functional,
installation is still a bit of an adventure - even for developers.
We're working on simplifying things. Stay tuned. Support is available
on the mailing list.

The project homepage is siemens.github.io/codeface, and the code is
available via git from https://github.com/siemens/codeface.git.

Enjoy!
