Maybe it has something to do with where the cursor is placed in the
moment you start typing?

No, this is definitely not a normal behavior, but I have observed it too. Most of the time, it happens when I use dead keys (for accents) at the beginning of my command, which, fortunately, doesn't often happen. CocoMUD, or rather, the AccessPanel, is configured to place the cursor on the last line before writing input, but it needs to detect input, and it doesn't always do that right. Does it often happen to you?
