well I did it, and then rebooted, but the document folder is still not in
the places menu. I did nothing to edit the
XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop"
XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR="$HOME/Downloads"
XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR="$HOME/Documents"
XDG_MUSIC_DIR="$HOME/Music"
XDG_PICTURES_DIR="$HOME/Pictures"
XDG_VIDEOS_DIR="$HOME/Videos"
because the document folder is there...

lines of text saying the home directories once you have it all edited to be
right should be a save or save as option within gedit title bar hit that

so, this is what i got...the documents folder is supposedly there, but

either a "favorites" option that needs to be edited or it's a
