I missed the part about you installing on a RAID. RedHat uses LVM
(Logical Volume Manager) for RAIDs. RedHat will install on RAIDs, it
just usually takes a little more work to do so. The install
documentation briefly talks about the process. Since RedHat pulled
support for 9.0, all the information on there web site for it has also
been pulled. One bit of good news is that I haven't noticed any major
differences between RedHat 9.0 and the Enterprise versions that it now
sells. So the documentation should still be useful.

The last one is the what you want. The key to setting up RAID is making
sure the Linux supports it. RedHat did leave up a partial Hardware
Compatibility List for 9.0. Google is your friend here.

Another issue is whether the installer for Linux includes support for
the driver for your RAID. Some have to create custom boot disks for the
installer in order to install on to some RAID devices. I'm not going to
go into any more detail other than say that just because the Linux
kernel supports the hardware doesn't necessarily mean it easy to install
Linux on it.

The Linux Documentation Project over half a dozen Howtos of varying ages
on RAID in Linux from older stuff using raidtools to guides on specific
hardware.

Sorry that there's no easy answer.
