Hey guys,
I had setup my grandfather with Xubuntu about two years ago, and he was
optimistic at first, but he started to be convinced that his illegal copy
of Windows from his random Hispanic friend (that probably screwed him and
stole parts from him) was better than the copy of Xubuntu I put on his
computer. He ONLY uses the web browser, so switching operating systems was
not a loss. The problem was that he thought because he was using Windows he
never has to sign in to Google (or "gmail" as he knew it as). As soon as I
pressured him to sign in to Google in Chromium, he magically had no more
problems with Xubuntu, and stopped restarting the computer to switch back
to Windows each time he forgot.
Anyway, I'm happy for the win. He is no longer using an illegal copy of
Windows, and he is now a part of the world of Free and Open Source
Software. :)
