*The International Panel on Social Progress invites comments on its first
draft until Dec. 2016*

*Overview / **Resumen:*

The International Panel on Social Progress is a global initiative that
brings together a large group of scholars brought together to compile
evidence across disciplines to rethink our ideas of a just society.
Recognising the interconnected forces of inter alia: weakening traditional
nation states; technological change; profound and unequal transformations
in health and education outcomes; contestations between the religious and
secular etc., we aim to deliver a report addressed to all social actors,
movements, organizations, politicians and decision-makers, in order to
provide them with the best evidence on questions that bear on social
change. The report has 22 chapters covering a comprehensive range of areas
that have an important bearing on our society now and into the future. It
is the first comprehensive synthesis of social sciences knowledge about key
issues facing humankind today.

The first draft of the report is out and is available for public
consultation and comment. We invite comments from all concerned citizens
including (but not limited to) NGOs, think tanks, academics, practitioners,
policy makers and youth. There is a web based platform for comments and
inputs and we would be very grateful if you could comment, circulate and
advertise this widely to your networks. The report is a product of a
two-year international initiative.  Key features:
<https://comment.ipsp.org/>  Written by up to 250 leading academics from
all around the world; Takes a holistic approach to social progress: not
only the economy, but health, education, gender relations, political
participation; Focuses on the consequences of globalization and inequality,
with a normative focus on the pursuit of justice broadly understood;
Identifies scholarly consensus as well as disagreements; Each chapter
concludes with advice to policy-makers.
