Telnet allows for remote access of a computer and to provide the ability to
instruct that computer to create, edit, execute, and delete files just as if
the user were sitting at that computer.

vist www.telnet.org[1] for more information

i practiced telnet on IPAC Extragalactic Database ned.ipac.caltech.edu
134.4.10.119

i was able to log in but it was difficult to navigate. one thing that i
learned was that becaue i am used to graphical user interfaces and not text
based that it was difficult using the program.
