I know Bill is against lawyers in general, but I think it's a good idea to consult with someone regarding some type of legal organization (a non-profit or a LLC) for personal liability protection. What brought this up was the fact that we would have to purchase a certificate to sign our system drivers. If an individual were to purchase this themselves for the project, that could open that person up for some type of litigation down the road. Plus, their name and address would be all over it. On the other hand, if a legal organization were to get a donation from an individual, then use that money to purchase the certificate, it would offer protection against the individual. I'm just trying to make sure no one gets in any type of trouble here. There's a lawyer right down the street from me that has experience with business matters and non-profit organizations. If the fees are cheap enough, I'll ask him what he thinks about a project like ours.
