Please go ahead and have the TeamSpeak meeting without me. I'm trying to stay away from the internet this week. My position is basically this: - I agree CipherShed needs to maintain full control, in any cooperative agreement - I agree with PID0 that their claims do not sound like they hold much weight - it does sound like TrueCrypt benefited originally from stolen code, and if we can make amends for that I would feel better about it. - in my experience it's best to have direct dialogue with the other side. I'm glad he was willing to respond to my email - CipherShed would be more popular if we had credible commercial support. SecureStar seems credible to me. - we need to replace a lot of code. He sounded interested in possibly providing some. It just seems to me that there is potentially a lot to be gained on both sides if we cooperate and only bad things if we fight. If he comes after us with lawyers it will cost him a lot of money and will make him look like an ass. If he works with us he could benefit our project and also make some money supporting our users. He brought up the idea of working together. I think we should explore it.
