I thought things went quite well on Saturday. The audience made good
observations and asked Kyle good questions. He said he enjoyed the
experience and the audience seemed to appreciate the experience. Obviously
we had our best turnout so far. In addition to the caucuses that may have
been part of some of our potential audience members' day on Sunday, it was
the day we did not have our special guest. It was probably helpful to some
degree that we were able to have the guest included in our flyer and other
publicity right from the start.
I was wondering about asking John Turner whether he would be willing to help
us out or had any suggestions for "DUKHTAR". Shannon, perhaps you could
share who you have tried to solicit as a guest for us so that we don't just
irritate people by asking the same folks. Does anyone have a suggestion?
There are some specific cultural issues for marriage customs in Pakistan or
the South Asia subcontinent, to what degree are these customs supported by
Islam and are there other places where these customs are held, and there are
more general issues of women being subjected to coercion or abuse and the
options that they have. Guests that could speak to any of these (and
possibly others) might be helpful.

Hi Joel - unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I have been unable to find
a speaker for Dukhtar. Sorry about that! I thought we had the perfect person
from Bates but it turns out the screening happens during their spring break,
so she will be away. Again, my apologies. How was Kyle on Saturday? It looks
like the turnout was strong!
