How is everybody doing? Today was beautiful and hopefully more days like
today are on way for this summer. MIFF is just a couple of months or so
away. After that, we will be counting the days (or weeks) until we get
together to discuss, debate, and decide on films.
In the meantime, I thought it would be nice to get together to spend a
little time evaluating Cinema Explorations 2019, but mostly to get together
to have some fun together, pat ourselves on the back for what weve done,
and get excited about next year. One exciting thing about next year is that
we have a new couple who want to join our merry band in choosing films for
Cinema Explorations. If you havent already noticed the two new names in the
address line, the new people are Dennis and Linda McCann. Both are pretty
serious about films since they do go to film festivals besides MIFF. They
are regulars at RRSQ so it is possible that you have already made their
acquaintance. Anyway, I am hopeful that we can get together so that we can
all meet them and they can meet all of us.
I was hoping that we could meet at Grand Central Café either on Monday
(5/13), Tuesday (5/14), or Thursday (5/16) eveningssay 5:30 or 6:00 (5:30
might be the best time for Thursday should anyone have plans to see
TRANSMILITARY at 7:15)or we could meet for lunch on Thursday (5/16) or
Friday (5/17) if that is good for everyone. Please let me know which days
and times are best for you. Hopefully, some of the times offered for next
week are good for everyone.
