Considering the cool turn to the weather, I certainly hope everybody’s power
and heat situation is back to normal. Alice and I were extremely fortunate, but
lots of people had a pretty uncomfortable and frustrating week last week. I
hope everybody is planning to be at tomorrow’s meeting at RRSQ at 10:00.
I know I have been lobbying for “1945,” but I am on the mailing list for
Menemsha Films and they have been sending me promotional e-mail about the film.
This is the second time they have sent me this excerpted scene from “1945.” I
think it does a pretty good job of establishing the tone for how the town is
responding to the arrival of the two Jews. You may also want to read the Film
Comment online article focusing on “1945.”

about it is that it definitely needs to be shared with a [Spoiler Alert
Warning!]. I don’t think there’s a lot it holds back in describing what happens
in the film.
