Thanks Catherine ,
Also, Larry D. Agenbroad, Ph.D., Director, Mammoth Site of Hot Springs, So.
Dakota presented at the 2016 Calif. Islands Symposium an abstract where-in he
indicated for about 1,000 years humans and mammoths coexisted on Santa Rosa
Island ( Santa Rosea ? ) after 13,000 BP. In one section he addresses the
Younger Dryas hypothesis in relation to the Channel Islands, and determined, "
There does not appear to be a climatic “spike” in the model…., with no
concurrent comet hypothesis apparent.” Also, our local Carpinteria Tar Pits,
the second one in size to the LaBrea Tar Pits of LA, was researched to have
fossilized prehistoric animals from as recent as 10,000 years ago. More food
for thought. Paul

A recent article sent to the Naturalist Corps talks of the Big Burn. One of
our newer Volunteer trainees has offered a look at this theory and has
offered up another view. Important to read the CRITICISM portion to gain a
new perspective. Food for thought.
