Subject: [cinc] Type of Shellfish?
Collegues,
While kayaking all around the Channel Islands Harbor for the first time in
years, I witnessed this species of shell fish very prevalent on cement ocean
walls within Mandalay Bay as well as on the more natural rocks making up
various small breakwater works. These are typical of their size, being able
to be covered by my hand barely. The are not abalone, nor are they mussels.
are they a type of scallop? I have have no recall of seeing them in days gone
bye. Are they an invasive species? Paul
