Fun report, Leslie,
As much as we have great information via our ongoing training, there is always
some one who has a good question where we need to go and look up. equals more
info for us to pass on to the next group. Cool.

Sightings:
2 pods of common dolphins - first about 50 and later 500 (Passengers loved
watching them swim beneath the bow of the boat.)

Celebrating Earth Day on the water with an enthusiastic group of southern
Californians, a remarkably knowledgable and interested bunch. I came home
with a long list of questions to research! One boy seemed to know everything
about sharks. I was hoping we’d see a basking shark for him—and for me —but
no luck. An inspiring young girl shared her thoughts on communicating with
animals in various languages, including wave language!
The day was calm and sunny, but a thick marine layer made sighting a bit
difficult. Captain Alex took us out to Anacapa, providing great views of Arch
Rock, which the passengers appreciated.
With our time running out, Captain Alex took us southward past Hueneme Port
again, hoping to meet some gray whales. It paid off! After finding the mama
and baby, no one on board complained about the trip running 45 minutes longer
than scheduled. It was icing on the cake of an already perfect day!
Big thanks to Alex, Nathan, Paul, and Osian of Channel Islands Sportfishing.
