Morning trip - 30 common dolphin. A very slow start to the Ranger 85
season. Rough and cold, but beautiful vistas of snow covered mountains. Saw
a small pod of common dolphin leaving and returning just inside of Gina-and
that was it!
Afternoon trip - much better conditions. 200 common dolphin, 2 gray whales.
Saw the dolphin in small groups as we proceeded offshore. Finally had a long
distance sighting of 2 gray wales off the south shore of west Anacapa.
Thanks to Captain Frank, Second Captain Jake, spotter Zack and chef Paul for
their usual competent trip.
