Cliff Rodriques and I were out at Prisoners for the day.
We had 112 passengers with a school group of fifth graders of about 40. Crew
DeeDee and Gabby led their hike. Jackie led the open party to Pelican.
Cliff and I gave an orientation to about forty day people and took five folks
with us up the Navy road to the Del Norte picnic table. Cliff did interp for
folks there, we encountered others who joined in with Cliff. I then lead three
hikers to the top at the isthmus where the picnic table is at 1,420 elevation
and had great views. More interp there and met people eith questions going up
and down the trail. Great day.
Sightings: Fleeting small pod of Common dolphins on the way out, then two gray
whales nearer to the island.
On our way home we encountered a mega pod of Common dolphins that delighted
everyone!
Thanks to Captain Luke, Jackie, Gabby and new crewman Maddie for a great trip!
