6/13/18 Condor Express Report:
It was great to get out on the boats after quite a while. Although foggy when
we started out, the sun came out and the weather was perfect. Sea was fairly
calm with mild swells.
Capt. Dave stated it was the most whales he had seen all season on one trip.
Most were spotted in the channel of North Santa Cruz island.
350 Long-beaked Common Dolphins
4 Fin Whales
8 Blue whales.
The Blues were intent on feeding, the Fin's came a bit closer to check us
out. At one point, we were surrounded by whales in all directions!
All in all, great whale-watching for the group of locals and some folks from
as far away as China.
Crew Devin and Colton on board.
Fellow naturalists Tony and Marilyn (PID, who had her work cut out for her
yesterday)!
We even had a friendly dog on board.
Great day on the water!

All,
Moonyeen Powers did her hike certification yesterday on Santa Cruz and was
given a round of applause by all the visitors at the end of her hike!
Please say "Hi." when you see her on the islands!
