With a couple from Germany and others from various states including Illinois,
Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Colorado, the boat set out
to calm seas with mild swells.
1500-2000 common dolphin appeared as we neared the channel between Anacapa and
Santa Cruz and then two Gray whales were spotted in the same area.
Captain Poncho slowly cruised around the back of Anacapa where we hit the
jackpot. A pod of 8 ORCAS appeared!
It was a marvelous sight with a backdrop of pink clouds and a golden sunset.
Crew members Jackie and Nathan retrieved a balloon and plastic bag on the way
back.
