Collegues,
Last night your’s truly, along with Tara Brown and Ken Tatro, presented our
power point program “ Marine Mammals of the CINP & CINMS” to 63 of the campers
at El Capitan State beach in the park's outdoor theater. All in attendance were
from So Cal except for one family from Arizona. This demographic characteristic
dominates our state park presentations, and most in attendance have not yet
been whale watching nor have they been to our CINP. However, the interest to do
both is obvious, especially at the end when we share information and handouts
on how to do it!
Tara and I camp out the night prior, thus advertising the event. Ken joined us
after interpreting a special whale watch tour to our CINP and CINMS waters
aboard the Shearwater, honoring a boat load of USA Vetrans. Maybe you saw the
coverage on TV?
Our last summer presentations at the local state beaches will be August 15th
at El Capitan, and the 25th at Carpinteria State Beach. Cheers, Paul
