Carol,
Forgive me for not making contact with you until now about our coming
presentation at El Capitan this Saturday Eve at 8:15. However, I am still not
sure we can do it. In the last week they have had high fire warnings and in the
canyons that now means restricted parking. As of right now I have not got a
confirmation from the rangers that help set up our projector connections, as
they are not on assignment right now at El Capitan ( maybe up at Gaviota where
they had a fire a couple weeks ago? ). Anyway, we are scheduled to be at El
Capitan on Wednesday the 15th of August and at Carpinteria the 25th: both at 8
pm. Please, try to make one of those instead of this one. Cheers, Paul

Ahoy Collegues,
Last Saturday night Tara Brown, Ken Tatro, Bruce Mathews and yours truly
presented our Marine Mammals of the CINP and CINMS campfire show to
approximately 50 campers. Virtually all were families from So Cal who have
not yet been out to our CINP and CINMS. Fully two thirds had yet to be whale
watching and were in awe of the show. At the end of the presentation all were
surprised to know that they could either go whale watching or go on a day
hike on a CINP island while still remain camped at El Capitan. As usual, our
after the show “show and tell” session at our whale kit table was very well
attended. Cheers, Paul
