Dick was a stalwart in the Corp, always ready to be there and aa bunch of fun
to be with.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Dick, Sharon and the family.

Dear CINC Collegues who know Dick Bellman,
Dick Bellman was one of our CINC stalwarts for years. He retired from our
corps to join and help direct emergency response teams with the local Red
Cross in Ventura County just at the time they needed volunteer help to the
max. I am enclosing yesterday’s notice from Sharon, his wife, to all the Rio
Mesa High School Retirees who meet with him via a frequent reunion breakfast,
which he of course organized. He is in need need of our prayers and
encouragement now. Paul
Subject: From Sharon Bellman --- Dick Bellman Is in the Hospital
Hi!
Richard had a strong angina attack yesterday morning while just walking
across the street to the park. I took him to St. John’s in Oxnard and they
admitted him. He was tested all day and they decided to do an angiogram
this morning. They were unable to clear the blockage and unable to put in a
new stent as he has already had three that failed and it is a bypassed
artery from previous surgery. He is being transported by ambulance to
Scripps in San Diego tonight. The surgeon there that does this laser
surgery is world renowned and we were very lucky to get in so quickly. He
operated on Mother Teresa. (I’m bringing rosary beads.)
The procedure will be Monday and he will be evaluated this weekend by a
medical team. I am driving there in the morning. Thank heavens the kids
are all in San Diego.
Please keep Richard in your thoughts and prayers.
Sharon
