"Dark Water Journey" by next generation Chumash tomol paddler (Puller) Eva

CINMS has been supporting the Chumash community's tomol crossing events for
many years now as they have brought back tomols to our local waters, and as
they embark upon their annual cross-channel paddle journey to Limuw (Santa
Cruz Island) to be with family and friends in their ancestral homeland.
Through these special experiences, we've watched Eva Pagaling (Reggie's
daughter) grow from being a young girl observing, to a strong female tomol
paddler, to motherhood, and tomol leadership.  Here is her story of what it
means to her. Thanks goes to Eva for finding her voice with this and
trusting us NOAA folks to share her story respectfully.

Wishing you all a wonderful thanksgiving!
Shauna
