Tally:
2 blue whales
5 humpbacks
20ish Risso's
873 common dolphin
6-7 coastal bottlenose
The blues were relaxed and slow moving, with some nice close approaches, making
for excellent viewing. One humpback did a big tail lob, and some close
approaches.
Last Saturday's tally with Dave at the helm:
6 humpbacks close to the boat, numerous in the distance
6 blue whales
oddly, not a single dolphin of any kind
Both blues and humpbacks were especially vigorous last Saturday! Humpbacks
were breaching a lot, including many breaches off in the distance. Even the
blues were lunging out of the water quite a bit. It was a great day!
