1 Humpback
2000+ Common Dolphins
Ca Sea Lions
Pelicans
Shearwaters
We headed out from the harbor under very gloomy skies and calm waters. After
passing the buoy with our resident Sea Lions, we soon had our first sighting
of about 50 Common Dolphins. We continued east.... very east for quite a while
until we were as far as Anacapa where we finally had our first and only
sighting of a Humpback. This Humpback was traveling fast but gave us several
good tail flukes and remained fairly close to the boat for some good looks.
I believe everyone was able to capture some great pictures.
On our way back, we saw more Common Dolphins, Pelicans, and Sea Lions all
feeding together, Sea Lions thermoregulating and several Shearwaters and
Pelicans. All in all, a good variety of marine wildlife for the passengers from
near and afar.
Thank you to Captain Tasha and her crew for coming through in finding a whale
and delighting all.
~~Until I board again
