7 humpback whales
1,000+ long beaked common dolphins
Big patch of shearwaters
A picture perfect day for taking a whale watching trip. We were surrounded
almost the entire time by common dolphins. They never fail to entertain and
bring on big smiles with their antics. Our first whale sighting was 2
juveniles, one with a very white tail and the other with a very dark tail. Lots
of good looks. The next 2 were quite large in comparison. Some serious lunge
feeding going on. The last group of 3 had 1 juvenile in the mix. A pleasure as
always to see so much active marine life. Just before we arrived back in the
harbor Captain Dave pointed out a huge patch of shearwaters floating on the
surface, taking it all in.
