11/11/04 Mt. Vernon Woman Remains in Critical Condition Follwing Train, Car Collision
A 29-year-old woman is in critical condition after her vehicle was struck by a train this morning in Bonnie.

Jefferson County Sheriff Roger Mulch reports Heather A. King of Route 37 in Mt. Vernon was westbound on East Webber Road, crossing the railroad intersection when her vehicle was hit by a Southbound Union Pacific train. Mulch says a preliminary investigation reveals King was ejected from the vehicle upon impact.

She was transported to St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital. The accident occurred at 6:45 this morning.

An investigation into the collision is continuing by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Division.
