LANSING, Ill. -- A 17-year-old boy was killed in a fire at a Lansing home early
Sunday morning. His body was found in the basement of the single-family
residence.

The fire at 17830 Roy St., in the far south suburb, was reported shortly after
3 a.m., and eight fire units and two ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

A fire department spokesman said they found firefighters found the most intense
flames in the basement and were told when they arrived that the victim might be
inside.
