Prairie St., Bethalto, IL 62010 Fire Department Phone: (618) 377-6421 Fire Department Chief: John Nolte Cause of Death: Assistant Chief Lehnen suffered a stroke at his residence. All interventions by first responders and at the hospital failed and he passed away the following day (03/21). He had worked a house fire the previous afternoon at 1500hrs. Viewing/Wake Arrangements: Visitation is Thursday from 4 -8 p.m. at the Payanic Funeral Home in Rosewood Heights. Funeral Arrangements: The funeral service is Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 132 Butcher St., Bethalto, IL. A firefighter procession will follow to interment at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto. Memorial Fund Contact and Address: Donations for a memorial can be made through the Catholic Church at: Mike Lehnen Memorial Fund, Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 132 Butcher St., P.O. Box 100, Bethalto, IL 62010. All donations will be given to the Back-Stoppers Foundation to assist families of fallen firefighters and law-enforcement officials.
