The U.S. Fire Administration has received notice of the following
firefighter fatality:
Name: Thomas De Angelis
Rank: Captain
Age: 40
Status: Volunteer
Years of Service: 25
Date of Incident: June 23, 2004
Date of Death: June 23, 2004
Fire Department Name: Stowe Township Volunteer Fire Department #2
Fire Department Address: 1460 Fleming Avenue, McKees Rocks, PA 15136
Fire Department Phone: 412-771-0114
Fire Department Chief: Dino A. De Angelis, Sr.
Cause of Death: After returning from a 2 a.m. call on Wednesday, June
23rd, Captain De Angelis became ill and was taken to a hospital where he
passed away. Cause of death is an apparent heart attack.
Viewing: Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, 700 Seventh Street, McKees
Rocks, PA 15136 on Thursday, June 24, 2004 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on
Friday, June 25th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A
private firefighter memorial service is scheduled for Friday evening at
7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral: (private) St. John of God Parish, Mother of Sorrows Church,
Desiderio Way, McKees Rocks, PA
Memorial Fund: The Thomas De Angelis Memorial Fund, in care of Stowe
Township Volunteer Fire Department #2.
