Despite efforts of fire and EMS personnel to revive him, he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead of a suspected heart attack. Lopes Cause of Death: Captain McCormack was working outside of a residential structure fire when he apparently was struck by a fallen power line that was dangling across the driveway from a tree limb. McCormack was treated at the scene and pronounced dead a short time later at an area hospital.
