Fugate was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Box 158, Bostic, North Carolina 28018 Fire Department Phone: (828)245-2249 Fire Department Chief: Randy Jolley Cause of Death: After attending an EMT class involving strenuous activities held at the station, Firefighter Martin woke his wife the next morning gasping for breath. Firefighter Martin died at the hospital due to heart complications. Wake Arrangements: The visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at Wasburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rutherford County Firefighter's Honor Guard will serve at both the funeral and visitation hours. Funeral Arrangements: Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
