Savoy firefighters arrived at an apartment building at 901 Hartwell Drive just after 2AM. Six other crews including the Wilard Airport Crash-Rescue Team helped to battle the blaze. The fire was under control just before 3AM and no one was seriously hurt. Firefighters say three apartments had the most damage at more than $125,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and reports say four out of eight smoke detectors in the building needed new batteries. Residents reported smelling burning odors late Saturday morning.
