I know what you mean J.Y. I have to contact someone about what is going on or
what happened to a person. Facebook doesn’t always give you what you need.
Miss seeing people but still love to know if they are okay or sick or what. I
get some news with the nurse at middle school, this helps some.

Thanks, Jane. I hate to see it end also. But, if no one is using it.......
Obviously, we need a correspondent in Caruthersville who will post the kind of
news that we would be interested in reading.
I've asked for that without response. I'd like to read good news about
accomplishments, births, sports, etc. Of course, sickness and deaths are also
important to know about. I, too, prefer it to Facebook and Topix.
I will leave it up for awhile, at least.
I don't think the folks that are still there really realize how much we
expatriats hunger for this type of news.

Any chance you’ll keep it alive?
Does anyone know how Carrie Schaeffer Hipler is doing?
Thanks

Well, folks..
There have been no posts for chs-l for a long time. I have thought numerous
times about just cancelling it. I haven't because it was my first mailing list
(I now manage several). I guess I am sentimental.
I began the list on the Shelton Business Machines domain way back when. That
eventually became a different domain with the Shelton Company. Then it moved to
the Columbia Online Information Network (COIN) in Columbia. When that went
away, I moved it to freelists.
When I was no longer in the boot heel, I begged for those remaining to post
news. For a long time, Keith Currie posted football game summaries. Then, there
was nothing.
As you know, we had a posting today! But, alas, it appears that Keith has been
hacked. I don't think "his" post was legitimate.
Anyway, greeting to you all. Perhaps I will now be able to make my break with
my internet past and finally delete the list.
