Greetings SPH Community,

The Collaboratory for Health Justice is forming a taskforce of students,
staff and faculty to help CDPH and IDPH ensure equitable access to the most
up-to-date, accurate, contextually and culturally appropriate information
about COVID-19, particularly for CDPH-identified populations of special
concern - those who are not primarily English speakers, are homeless,
undocumented, or survivors of interpersonal violence. We are asking for our
SPH community to join our volunteer taskforce to 1) commit to help us
systematically distribute information at locations in Chicago neighborhoods
to reach these communities (e.g. community centers, places of worship, etc);
and, 2) (via webex) help develop adapt materials for populations that are
more relevant, such as translating documents (currently material is only
available in Spanish, and Simplified Chinese) and messaging that reduces
myths, fear and stigma. If you are interested in joining this taskforce,
email sphcollaboratory@xxxxxxx indicating if you would only help distribute
information or if you also would like to volunteer time helping create
resources for our community partners, or both! We could use your public
health expertise at this particular time.

Those who volunteer to distribute fliers will follow guidance as suggested
by the CDC and Chicago Department of Public Health:

-  Practice social distancing
-  Avoid close contact with people who are sick (at least 6 feet)

-  Cover coughing or sneezing
-  Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or an
alcohol-based sanitizer if hand-washing is not available
-  Limit handshaking
-  Stay home if you are sick

Those who volunteer to help translate or adapt messages will be invited to a
webex to parcel out messaging tasks. We welcome your creativity and
communication skills!

For the most up-to-date information about COVID-19 in Chicago, including
guidelines for specific settings/populations, printable fact sheets, FAQs,
and posters in English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese, please visit

Webpage](https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/cdph/provdrs/health_protection_and_response/svcs/2019-novel-coronavirus--2019-ncov-.html).
 Please also visit the [CDC's

Thanks so much and stay healthy,

The Collaboratory for Health Justice
