People should know that freelists.org is a public list. Everything which is posted there is widely available to the general public so any personal information you send to a freelists group could be found through google searches etc. In order to take part in these tournaments you will have to hand over your email address and Skype ID which anyone in the world could find if they search for your name. There are also robots that crawl through webpages looking for this kind of information so you may be subject to an increase in fishing attacks and spam.

Hi Chess Lovers,

First, join our list,
chess@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Then enter the tournament by emailing our list.

This time, I am the Tournament Director.
You are invited to play in the World
Chess Parlor Tournament.
The tournament is Swiss style.
The time control is thirty moves per hour.
Since a chess clock is usually available, the 2.5 minute rule is being dropped.

This time, to enter,
you must promise to get at least 2 Good Citizen points by the end of Round 3.
Usually this means that you will be the
third-person timekeeper for at least  one game by the
end of Round 3.
If you have not received at least 2 GC
points, you will be removed from the Tournament.
If you do not have a chess clock, you
can write to our chess list, and ask for someone to show you how
to use a software chess clock.
Probably, someone will help you.

This will mean that probably many of your games will have a third party timekeeper.

All are welcome to play.
You arrange to play
your games at a time and
    date convenient
to
  you.

   We can work
around
  your
schedule, even if you
  are going to be
unavailable during the tournament
for a
  week or so.
   A game usually
lass a
  couple of
hours.
The full rules will be emailed
with the Round 1 pairings.

To enter this free
tournament, simply e-mail
chess@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
by Tuesday at 23:00 UTC or GMt.

Before you enter this tournament you
must get a  Skype account, if
    you do not have one.

You must also be a
member
  of our group,
chess@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
To join this group send an email

You must speak at least a
little

help
  you with your English.

You can play using Skype or, if your opponent agrees,  freechess.org or Lichess.

The permanent list will not be used for
this tournament.

Also, you are invited to attend
    our World Chess Parlor Club
Meeting on
  the first Saturday in August.
 everything is free!
      We can tell you how
you
can get free chess lessons,
       even if you have
never
played this great game.
      If you have any
chess
questions or would like
      to arrange a game,
please attend the
    meeting.
