Well it figures it would be that easy. I never thought to change the extension 
from .map to .txt and look at it. Thanks.
 
That Apomap program is very interesting. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be 
a help file for it. Does anyone know of a tutorial or documentation for it?

Open your ordinary windows notepad and set a begin and end colour in rgb values.
ex. 
255 255 255
0     0     0

Then save it as a .map file. Then it will run from white (the first RGB values) 
to black. (the last ones)
The more coördinates you add, the more variety you will have. Chaoscope fills 
in the gradient between the values all by itself. 
 
You can check for how your colours look like or how you should write them in 
your all original ordinary microsoft paint.
