I am forwarding an EDITED message from a local group which has the
potential of becoming (or working with) the "producers group". There are
several Yellow Springs members and they would meet here if a room was
available with a digital projector.

The next meeting of the Digital Shutterbugs will be held on Wednesday
March 22 in the meeting room at the Terran Corporation, 4080 Executive
Drive in Beavercreek. The board will meet at 6:45 pm, and the general
meeting will begin at 7:15 pm. The meeting is being held one week later
than normal due to a room scheduling conflict.
Millard Mier III will be demonstrating converting VHS Videotapes to DVD
using Windows Movie Maker 2 and SONIC per the Microsoft system outlined
at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/learnmore/dvdburn.mspx.
If time permits, we will also be looking at Photo Story 3, a new (and
free) slideshow software from Microsoft. You can learn more about Photo

Our April 19 meeting will be a demonstration of slide scanning. We will
be comparing the Pacific Imaging sub $200 scanner to the Minolta Dimage
AF-2840. Neither scanner is a current model, but the comparison will
show the differences between a home scanner and a professional unit. If
someone would like to bring in and demonstrate a flatbed scanner with a
slide attachment, it would add a lot to the demonstration.
