International Migratory Bird Day Celebration The Glen Helen Nature Preserve will be part of a network of hundreds of nature centers, parks and other groups celebrating International Migratory Bird Day throughout the world on Saturday, May 13. The IMBD theme this year is ?The Boreal Forest: Bird Nursery of the Americas.? This theme was chosen to highlight the need for conservation of boreal forests in North America that so many birds rely on for nesting and raising their young. Come learn more about the boreal forest, and why it is a critical breeding habitat to nearly half of all North American bird species, including many that we feed right here in Yellow Springs and the greater Dayton area at our backyard bird feeders. Join us for this family event. Most activities will take place at the Glen Helen Building, 405 Corry Street or near by at the bird blind and Trailside Museum. There will be discounts on bird-related items in the Nature Shop all day and bird counts taking place during the Celebration. Contact 937-769-1902 for more information.
