Art Exhibit: Artists of Madison County
June 1 through July 15 at the Glen Helen Atrium, 405 Corry St. in Yellow
Springs. 

Nature Story Hour at the Trailside Museum
Every Wednesday at 1:00pm next to 405 Corry St. in Yellow Springs.
Preschoolers can discover nature through stories about the natural world.
Parents are invited to stay and enjoy the stories with their children.

Poetry & Nature Hike 
Sunday, June 4 at 2:00 pm. Meet at the Yellow Spring Parking Lot (1075
State Route 343) in Yellow Springs. Bring your favorite nature poem to
share with the group (and copies if you like), as we stop at inspirational
points along the trail.

Calendar Photo Submissions Due on June 5
Photos for submission are due for consideration for the 2007 Glen Helen
calendar by Monday, June 5.  Submission forms can be picked up at the Glen
Helen Building or Trailside Museum and must accompany all B&W or color
photos. Send to GHEI, 405 Corry St. Yellow Springs, Oh 45387 or call

Ten Glen Trees walk
Saturday, June 10 at 9:30 am. Meet at Trailside Museum next to 405 Corry
St, Yellow Springs. Get acquainted with new trees and share knowledge of

Reptile Feeding at the Trailside Museum
Saturday, June 10 & 24, at 11:00am. Come to the Glen Helen Trailside
Museum, next to 405 Corry St. in Yellow Springs to learn about snakes and
turtles, as we feed our resident reptiles. Great for kids of all ages!

Full Moon Pine Forest Hike 
Saturday, June 10 at 8:30 pm, meet at the Yellow Spring Parking Lot (1075
State Route 343). After the Street Fair and dinner, come walk through the
woods to the Pine Forest as many of the ancient cultures did...by the
light of the moon!  But bring a small flashlight for safety just in case.

Summer's Almost Here Medallion Hike 
Saturday, June 17 at 9:30 am at the Yellow Springs Parking Lot (1075 St.
Rt. 343). Meet The Glen Helen Ecology Institute's new director, Nick
Boutis, as he takes us on his old stomping grounds when he was an intern
at The OEC in 1990.  Hear what he's been up to and his hopes for the
future at Glen Helen.  This is a 5 mile or 3.5 hour hike and participants
should be in good hiking condition.

EcoCamp begins on June 19! 
Have fun while learning in nature! Camps are for kids ages 5 to 15. There
are six week long sessions from Monday, June 19 to July 28. Day Camp
themes are: Tiger Beetles, Animal Tracks, Young Scientists and Legends.
Overnight camps: Frontier Ohio, Raptor Camp, Night Camp, Wilderness
Survival, EcoArt, Gorge Adventure, Rocks Fossils & Bones, Aquatics Camp,

Falcon Program and Release
Thursday, June 22, 1:30 PM at the OEC Meadow (1075 State Route 343). Young
American kestrels will be released for EcoCampers. You are invited to join
us and to visit the Raptor Center afterwards with Raptor Campers as your
tour guides. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.

Grandparents & Grandkids Hike 
Saturday, June 24 at 1:00 pm at Trailside Museum. Bring your grandkids for
a fun and easy hike to all the Glen Helen "hotspots," including the Yellow
Spring, the Grotto, the Cascades and finally, Trailside Museum, for their
own hands-on exploration.  

Nature Discovery Walk
Sunday, June 25 at 4:00 at Trailside Museum next to 405 Corry St.  High
fives for everyone who identifies five each of birds, trees, wild flowers,

Enchanted Forest Ball Fundraiser
Saturday, June 24 8:00pm to midnight at the Glen Helen Building 405 Corry
St. Yellow Springs. Don?t miss the Glen Helen Association?s third annual
gala fundraiser event! Music by Dr. Skillet & Egyptian Breeze.
Complimentary bar, silent auction & hors d?oeuvres. Tickets are $40.00
each, sponsorship is $150 for two tickets. Proceeds to benefit the Glen

Glen Helen Lecture Series - Children's Night! 
"Animals & Their Habitats of Ohio" Wednesday, June 28 at 7:00 pm in the
Glen Helen Building Auditorium. Columbus Storyteller, Michelle Cornell,
returns to Yellow Springs for an evening of folktales and theatrics.  In
our own indoor Enchanted Forest, she'll tell us tales about the creatures
we might see in Glen Helen, including bats, squirrels, rabbits and trees.
Fee: $7.00 per family
