Meet at the Yellow Spring Parking Lot (1075 State Route 343) in Yellow Springs. Bring your favorite nature poem to share with the group (and copies if you like), as we stop at inspirational points along the trail. Meet at Trailside Museum next to 405 Corry St, Yellow Springs. Get acquainted with new trees and share knowledge of others with fellow tree-lovers. Please call (937) 767-7798 for details. Full Moon Pine Forest Hike Saturday, June 10 at 8:30 pm, meet at the Yellow Spring Parking Lot (1075 State Route 343). After the Street Fair and dinner, come walk through the woods to the Pine Forest as many of the ancient cultures did...by the light of the moon! But bring a small flashlight for safety just in case. Glen Guide: Edwin Lainhart Summer's Almost Here Medallion Hike Saturday, June 17 at 9:30 am at the Yellow Springs Parking Lot (1075 St. Rt. 343). Meet The Glen Helen Ecology Institute's new director, Nick Boutis, as he takes us on his old stomping grounds when he was an intern at The OEC in 1990. Hear what he's been up to and his hopes for the future at Glen Helen. This is a 5 mile or 3.5 hour hike and participants should be in good hiking condition. EcoCamp begins on June 19! Have fun while learning in nature! Camps are for kids ages 5 to 15. There are six week long sessions from Monday, June 19 to July 28. Day Camp themes are: Tiger Beetles, Animal Tracks, Young Scientists and Legends. Overnight camps: Frontier Ohio, Raptor Camp, Night Camp, Wilderness Survival, EcoArt, Gorge Adventure, Rocks Fossils & Bones, Aquatics Camp, and Glen Safari. Bring your grandkids for a fun and easy hike to all the Glen Helen "hotspots," including the Yellow Spring, the Grotto, the Cascades and finally, Trailside Museum, for their own hands-on exploration. Columbus Storyteller, Michelle Cornell, returns to Yellow Springs for an evening of folktales and theatrics. In our own indoor Enchanted Forest, she'll tell us tales about the creatures we might see in Glen Helen, including bats, squirrels, rabbits and trees. Fee: $7.00 per family
