Unfortunately it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to make it along on Friday –
managed to double-book my afternoon.
I would still really like to hear what the feedback on the event was – perhaps
using the Event Evaluation Survey Form as a driver for the discussion
(https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZSWYRLR).
The other option is that anyone can email me directly with any comments or
feedback.
Worth mentioning the User Groups : http://sqlsocial.net and
http://www.sqlserver.org.au The web page for the second one is so out of
date, but the meetings are still announced there and you can sign up for
notifications. The other option is to sign up at http://sqlpass.org and in
the profile add the Melbourne based Chapters to get added to their mailing
lists.
There is also a new conference on the go:

employer to send them, they can use the SQL Social discount code - USMA11

Fellow Chai-Ters,
A reminder that the first meeting for 2015 is on Friday 27th Feb from 3pm to
4:30pm (room booked ‘til 5pm) at DHHS 50 Lonsdale Street. A room has been
booked but I’m not sure of the room number – I’ll let you know. As far as I’m
aware we don’t have a guest speaker so if any of you have a 15 – 30 minute
presentation you’d like to give please let me know.
At present I’m suggesting the following items:
1. Update on SQL Saturday. It was a hoot – we’ll give a brief update on
some of the stuff that was covered:
a. New stand-alone version of Power BI.
b. BIML – what’s BIML? I hear you say. Good question.
c. Predictive stuff (Jason was excited about this)
2. Guest spot if someone volunteers.
3. Show and tell. This was a feature of the early meetings that worked
well. 5 – to 10 minute presentation on something that you’ve done or seen
that’s really cool. It might not even be a presentation as such, you might
just want to update us on new initiatives happening at your health service –
it’s handy to know who’s doing what. Let me know in advance if you can.
4. Q&A. If you’ve got a question someone might have an answer but it’s
certain that everyone will have an opinion.
5. General discussion about the format of future meetings.
Let me know if you have any suggestions.
